Post 1 - Hello World!

When I am starting to the first post of my blog, firstly I would like to say hello to everyone.

I am originally from Turkey. I am a Computer Engineer working as an IT Professional. I was living in Istanbul, the biggest city (population of almost 15 million) in Turkey before migrating to Australia.

After getting our Skilled Independent Migration Visa in 2004, we (myself and my wife) have migrated to Australia in May 2006 and settled in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria. Since then we have been living in Melbourne except the overseas holidays. In this 8 years since 2006, we had a daughter and now we live here as a family of three.

When starting to my blog I should mention that;
  • In this blog, I will not be aiming to convince anyone to migrate or not migrate to Australia
  • For those who are considering migration to Australia as a reasonable option for themselves; I will not be giving answers to their personal migration related questions as those kind of questions needs some legal qualifications and certifications, which I don’t have, for answering.
  • Since I am a Turkish guy, English is not my native language. Please do not expect an English which is good structured in grammar. Also please don’t expect some fancy words that a person using English as his/her second language would not know since I have got a limited vocabulary stock in my mind when you compare with a native English speaker.
As you may understand from the title of my blog, I will try to tell you and give information about the ‘Life in Australia’ and will try to give you the feeling of what does it look like. When doing this, I will use my own experiences as well as some information that anyone can find by doing some simple search from internet. For example, in my future posts I am planning to give information about Melbourne, the Health System, the Education System and Multi-Cultural environment here and also share my personal experiences here.

In addition, I have to say that, since me and my wife are full time working parents with a kid there would not be too much spare time that I would have remaining from my responsibilities. Keeping this in mind, I have to mention that I cannot promise anything about the continuity and the frequency of my posts to this blog. But, as far as I can, I will try to write my experiences, my thoughts and information that I have got. In the future, if my posts become liked and well recognized that would make me happy enough.

After this entry and self-introductory post, in my next (you can call it the first) post, I will be sharing my/our experiences during our migration process back in between 2002-2006.

Stay safe… See you…
